Trump surely has no love for the arts. Look at him, listen to him, and what does he call beautiful? Tariffs. We see the good that is doing us.
Americans have always had a problem with art. What practicality does art have?
Art expresses our creative impulses. It makes and reflects our culture. Art is our humanity.
Can you answer these two questions:
- Who was the richest man in England circa 1603?
- Who was William Shakespeare?
Creativity is remembered long after money.
Attacking art attacks our humanity. This we cannot allow.
