Yesterday was a mess for me. I almost quit my job - some free floating anger, the like of which I have not had for a time. Probably less free-floating that aggravation inspired by one person, a bit of a screw of up, and just being tired.
The big accomplishment last night was answering an email from Joel C. Second biggest: a nap.
I did find this last night: I CAN'T BELIEVE I ACTUALLY FOUND 10 MORE CRIME MOVIES YOU PROBABLY FORGOT TAKE PLACE AT CHRISTMAS.
Of what else I have been reading, I will put into separate posts.
Today was not much better. I think I have had too much sugar - headaches, wooziness.
We were out of work early. This gave me time to get CC her Christmas card. I did not stay long. A visitor arrived just before me. She said she had lost her old phone and did not have my number. I said she knew where I lived. (She had only to call the motel.) I made a crack about money, but still invited to lunch on Christmas. I do not expect her. She looked the same.
I decided to walk off some of the sugar by walking up to Madison and 28th Street. There I caught the bus downtown, where I caught the bus home.
No one was in the office, so I walked down to McClure's for Coke Zero. I paid my rent when I came back. I was tired and only wanted to lie down. Which I did. I slept a little longer than I wanted, which had me catching the 3:45 bus instead of the 3:15. I had a lunch of beans.
Instead of going to Payless, I went to Aldi's. I will go to Payless tomorrow. Some items for the weekend were bought and some were bought in anticipation of Monday. That includes a turkey breast. Maybe CC will show up.
I got back here around 6. I ate a meal of hummus. I fed the cat, who did not show up until my return. He sleeps on the table next to the laptop at this moment.
I did some reading.
From The Bulwark: The Ten Best Films of 2023: It’s Nolan’s world, we’re just living in it. (I guess seeing the best movie of the year is a good thing; I find it strange I did not know John Woo had a new movie, and it played in Muncie!)
From The Brisbane Times' book review: Eight books: Sigrid Nunez’s parrot story and all about Darlinghurst
I found another web page I think my monitoring software will not allow me to see - you give it a look and see if my reading it will undermine the Republic: Police have recovered second Ziegler tape
Not much pep, nothing done with "Love Stinks", and I think I will fill in more blog posts.
