Red Death Kicked Back

 I got this two days ago:

Thank you for submitting your play, The Masque of the Red Death, to the Kernodle New Play Award administered by the University of Arkansas Department of Theatre. I regret to inform you that your play was not selected for this year’s award. The reading committee selected The Creature by Alexa Derman as the winner of the 2023 Kernodle Award.  

  

I appreciate your patience as the committee, which is comprised of graduate student playwrights, actors, and directors, as well as faculty, and community partners, read through all the submissions. Thank you for putting your work into the world and sharing it with us—the opportunity for emerging playwrights to read plays from you and the vast range of playwrights across the country is a gift. We are privileged to have been entrusted with your work and words and wish you the best of luck with this and future writing projects.
