America Backsliding from Democracy?

 The Guardian reports here on a study that the US of A is sliding away from democracy. The underling report attributed much to the Covid pandemic but even more to false claims of electoral fraud.

Democracy requires personal responsibility. Conservatives used to make a lot of noise about personal responsibility - particularly when the subjects were crimes and welfare. Individual rights require iñdividual responsibility.

Whiney thumb-suckers want comfort, not the stresses of societal duties. These types want to be told rather than think for themselves so to escape their fear of freedom. This type finds refuge in an authoritarian government.
