Two reviews from Pitchfork got my attention late this morning:
Drive-By Truckers' The Complete Dirty South
Betty LaVette's LaVette!
I found both the band and the singer 13, 14 years ago. The Truckers are a Southern rock band that does not sound like any band from the Seventies that originated that label. LaVette is an old soul singer, if you like that then start listening to her.
I walked down to McClure for a Coke Zero and smokes before 10.
"The Sloe Gin Effect" went to Black Moon Magazine after several edits to the ending. It does not pay, but I am not expecting much from this story.
Press Pause Press and The Saturday Evening Post got "The Local Boy Who Made Good."
Leavings got "Visions of Colonel Tom." Here is issue 4 of that magazine.
Pulp Literature received "The Psychotic Ape Pays A Visit". Yes, KH, I renamed it, again. I also nipped and trimmed the opening..
The PO showed up, banging on the door loudly enough to make me jump, which almost caused the same laptop to slide off. He says the counselor is not talking to him, wants me to carry a message to him. I need some specialized program. He wants to send me back to Byrd, if is not done. It is 3:29 and I still have yet to take out the bike.
Vast Literary was sent "The Dilemma of Basketball."
"Exemplary Employee" went to Headland.
I finished with Submission Grinder at 4:05. Now, I start with NewPages. Where I found nothing useful.
Well, the Russian rebellion seems to be quelled.
Sunspot Lit offered what I thought was a free evaluation. It was not.
I have done all the searching I can do.
It 5:08. I need to get the bike out. I have done a little exercising throughout the day, like when I crash Firefox.
No rain. White River is very low, many places where it could be walked across.
I have three emails to write when I get back. And a shower!
