Writing; Info Dumps

Info dumps seem more common in science fiction, particularly series. My eyes glaze over and skim my way through them.

Two options are given: action and dialog. The latter always seemed to me the best way to avoid info dumps. The other is giving me a bit to roll around in my mind.
