Rejections

Anyone following this, or even just dropping in and curious, I have been publishing my rejection letters under the subject of "On Writing." Click on the link, if you want to find them. Most have been curt, some have been curt and complimentary, and one, maybe two, have been helpful.

Only one rejection nettled me by calling my characters stereotypical. Edgar Allan in Muncie, Indiana is a stereotypical character. You want to feel rejection, write a criminal appeal that fails to persuade the appellate court of its rightness.

Dorothy Parker's Ashes published Literary Rejections: The Ultimate Quiz. Reading this may help rejections less annoying.
