Indiana & Abortion & Where to Now?

From The Muncie Star Press: Indiana adopts near-total abortion ban as governor signs SB 1 into law.

Gov. Eric Holcomb signed Senate Bill 1, which prohibits abortion at any stage of gestation except in cases of rape, incest, fatal fetal anomalies or when the pregnant person’s life is at risk, within an hour of its passage late Friday night.

From The Guardian: Indiana assembly passes anti-abortion bill, governor signs it into law which points out:

...The exceptions for rape and incest are limited to 10 weeks post-fertilization, meaning victims could not get an abortion in Indiana after that. Victims would not be required to sign a notarized affidavit attesting to an attack.

And this quote which I hope has the proper reaction:

The Indiana house speaker, Todd Huston, said that if residents were unhappy, they could vote for new lawmakers.

I suspect the following is how Indiana Republicans hope to deflect any such unhappiness: House, Senate vote 'yes' on $200 taxpayer refunds, support services.

Those who think the General Assembly went too far need to register to vote and then vote for Democrats.

And about all that BS about valuing life -  Indiana still has the death penalty.
