Writing Is Hazardous To Your Health

Tuesday:

I spent the morning wrapping up submissions. I have no good reason to explain how it too me a couple of hours to make two submissions. Yes, I did clean up out my YouTube “Watch Later List”, and put together a couple of blog posts. But these are what I managed to get done with submissions:

“Going For The Kid” went to L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest.

Short Story Substack got “A Heart’s Judgment Judged”.

Mystic Mind Magazine was sent my third revision of “Lessons Learned From A Green Meadow”.

Being a Writer Is the Fastest Way to Starve to Death (Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity) came through last week and is on the nose - thankfully, I am dependent on Social Security.

I am thinking of using the Hemingway App. It costs $20.

I bookmarked OneLook Thesaurus. I have become too lazy to use books for this purpose - Google is much quicker, since it often happens I do not use what is offered but find a spark for something else.

Old World Evansville, Indiana - a video about its architecture - had me thinking there was a reason for so many churches and so many breweries and a mental hospital, as the only way to survive the place. Seriously, Evansville is a cool town, just strange people.

I went to the bank on McGalliard, then to Curry Nights for their buffet, and then off to Payless. The food was excellent - the vegetable fritters and the rice pudding were even better.

However, I must have eaten too much. When I got home, I slept. Until about 9 PM, and then I got sleepy again around midnight.

Wednesday:

I guess I stayed up too late. I missed getting up for liturgy. I just did not feel well.

But I did go out. The PO is to come up this week and install the new computer. Going through the cables, I found the connector between monitor and computer had not survived the move. Off to Walmart because the bus went that way, and it was cold outside. No success there, other than getting my Coke Zero. Then I caught the bus to where I should have gone in the first place - Staples. I got a cable and a wall charger. Thinking I had 30 minutes before the next bus, I went to Long John Silvers for fish and chips. They were disappointing, but worse I had miscalculated when the next bus was to come. So, I got home around 3 PM.

A hot shower put my back in better shape.

With the new computer on the horizon, I decided against adding anything more to the current hard drive. I did Christmas cards, watched some movies on Tubi, and was up too late doing all that.

Again, I missed liturgy. I managed to turn off the alarm without getting awake. It was 3 hours later that I did crawl out of bed. I have been piddling, doing the email, finishing off this post, and trying to decide what to do with myself.

One thing I figured out last night was that I could write on Google Docs rather just use it for editing. So that is something to do.

I have a doctor's appointment at 4 pm. I may do a little with First Thursday after that - after all, I will be downtown. Maybe Vespers.

There are some items I want to add to this blog.

Whatever, I need to get at it. Have a good day.
