I Survived E-ville

At least, I think I have. Not that I can feel so optimistic this Friday morning. I have been awake for 4.5 hours and I cannot say what I have accomplished. Two blog posts done, cleaning out my YouTube watch later list (which went into the blog post), and some reading. No more packing and no more writing done.

Having packed my books, I think I have enough here to do some reading. A lot of reading. There is enough in my personal library to work on for "Chasing Ashes".

I was going past Bloomington this time yesterday morning. I was a five-hour trip down and back.  Intermittent light rain until I was south of Indianapolis. On Pendleton Pike in Lawrence, I found a Mercedes SUV in the wrong lane of the median coming towards me, and I was lucky not to be in its lane. That was the weirdest thing that happened to me yesterday.

I missed where to turn off of SR 41, and came within sight of the bridge over the Ohio River. Oops.

T2 gave me the box, we went to eat. She took me to Manna Mediterranean Grill. I had - for the first time - a Lamb Shawarma. It was wonderful. Fluffy, tasty pita bread. Great place.

We talked a lot without being able to get everything said. She looked well - older, a little tired, but then she is twice a cancer survivor. I made my apologies, even if they were not enough or full enough. This was the first time I had seen her in over 20 years. WE also talked to KH and DM on the phone. I called off meeting DM in Indianapolis. I assume I will never see T2 in this lifetime. It was a good send-off for of us, I think.

No visit from CC yesterday. I checked this morning and her pretrial conference as continued. She was to see if she could find a house, no word from her that she even looked. Typical. This why I let her talk, set her to do something, and go on about my business.

I need to see about a U-Haul truck to get the trunk from sister. She suggests I come on Sunday. This will be a mess, I am sure.

Yesterday morning, I found the rent check that my landlord thought it shredded. It was in an envelope and I came close to throwing it away. I need to make a stop there today.

I got back here after 6 pm, and pretty stiff from my travels.

I deleted my e-mails - aside from the few I read.

T2 called, she was trying to send the photos from my visit. We talked some more, I told her stories about Fort Dix. The photos have still not been received.

I read Ben Yagoda's The Autocrat of English Usage (The New Yorker), and then I turned in for the night).

Last night, being too bloody tired, I went for caffeine and nicotine this morning at 5 AM. Back here for breakfast and started what ends now with this post being published.

Let me leave you laughing:
