I got up around 5 am. Around 6, I walked down to McClure's for RC Cola.
The morning went fairly well. Except for not getting my hair cut. The cleaning crew came in while I was still working on some research, and I decided I might as well stay in.
Nothing in the news really caught my attention. Then I got on a kick of looking people up. I found another ex died - back in 2010. Great photo, I forgot how pretty she was; full of life. Then I found a fellow I knew died; sounded like his back went bad on him. He just barely made it past 50.
I called KH and told him what I had found. He reminded me we are at an age when people start dying. I think my problem is that they are dead, and I am not. Especially Paula. Most of the conversation was him telling me how bad was my slimmed down "Psychotic Ape." I was worried that I had cut it down too far and my humor was unnoticeable.
I decided to stop putting off my calls. I called Chili's about getting something in writing that I was no longer working for them. Five minutes in voice mail hell and all I got was a web page. Then I called Focus. Here I got a human being. She told me I had to send a fax, and I told her I would need to find a fax machine. Finally, I called Draft2Digital. I thought I had found the problem - a popup blocker on Firefox - and a solution - do it on Chrome. Only the solution did not work - I got a 404 error. Their diagnosis is a problem on this end.
Around 4, I called KH and asked him to see if he could get it uploaded. He ran into a page asking for a cover. I thought they were doing the cover. I told him to skip. I had not meant to tie him up in anything complicated, and while we were talking, I got this stabbing pain in my left eye. Stabbing like a bayonet thrust.
Eating dinner and two ibuprofen finally killed the pain.
I went back to the research and got done around 8. That was when Joel C called. Always good to hear from him. We talked politics and jobs and writing - mine and his.
Watched the end of Perry Mason. I really liked. Tonight I noticed they used the old Perry Mason theme at the end.
Having promised KH to work on the script, I got two more scenes done between 10 and 11.
Oh, I got another rejection for "Colonel Tom":

Oh, yeah, my PO sent me a risk assessment test to fill out. Frankly, I am not sure if it really applies to me. There were a couple questions about when I was living out on the street. Oh, well, he says, and I do. All I can say is this: your tax dollars at work.
I have been on Sir Douglas Quintet kick tonight.
