Wrecked

We did a trampoline truck today. The hip was not so much a problem as the knee. I got home early, meaning to do my laundry and a little writing. I slept, instead. Up at 6, then at 11:30. It is now 1:47 am. I cannot account for all my time since then - a shower, a meal, a trip ti McClure's, a little reading online, watching a movie on HBO, staring this post.

Other news today:

Apex turned down "The Psychotic Ape":

We wish you the best of luck finding a home for "The Psychotic Ape" and hope to read something new from you soon.

I read LitHub's How to Gain a Gazillion Followers Online, Taco Bell Quarterly-Style and thought, Yeah, I keep plugging away on this blog and no one pays any attention, but then there was this:

You’ll be fine! I think writers are natural performers. We’re like magicians. We want to perform on the page, writing the words that saw people in half and make elusive creatures like readers appear out of hats. But we also enjoy performing for each other, seeking community online and in workshops and in retreats. We dream of pulling off the most dazzling tricks of them all: bylines, book deals, platforms with thousands of readers. I don’t believe in the idea that writers are supposed to be reclusive and solitary. I think it’s another one of the gatekeepers. We thrive in troupes. Let’s reveal our tricks. The literary world needs more transparency and fewer illusions.

So, I keep plugging away here. If just one person comes away from here who learns something that improves their life, then that is a profit.

The world goes on. Ukraine is still free, but so is Donald J. Trump.

I may be going back to bed.

As for wrecks, Hank III will close me out for the night:
