I made work on time but left 30 minutes early. KH wanted to send me some money, I needed info from my bank and waiting for the 3:46 #12 bus would have really screwed up his plans and mine. All the same I did not get back here until 5 pm.
I got the info from the bank. I let KH know then I caught the bus up to FedEx. I planned on printing the amended 1040 form. Thing was I could not find the form on the form. I was quite annoyed. I did not find the form until tonight when I downloading again. I am even more annoyed. Tomorrow night it will be back to FedEx. Then filling out my amended tax form.
I was gobbling ice cream when KH called me back. More bad luck: the connection went bad until I was closer to downtown. Then we could not get my information to work.
I did get my SSI questionnaire mailed. That was the first thing I had planned that came off.
Back in the room, I dozed a bit. We were having a heat advisory and it was beating me down. My feet had gone out by 3 pm. I dozed on the bed. Then I heard what sounded like someone, something knocking on the door. I looked out the back window and I saw white instead of green. I opened the door to a massive cloudburst. I grabbed the phone. I opened the camera. I botched getting the cloudburst but I got the aftermath:
Then I set to doing my laundry. The pavement was drying and the air was muggy. I accomplished my second planned job for the day.
I walked down to McClure's to get some Coke. Needed my caffeine and sugar water.
KH sent the money through Zelle. I think I got it into my account. Just my free floating paranoia showing up there.
I showered. I called KH. We talked a bit. I started writing this.
I got my Social Security card over the weekend. I need to get my driver's license.
I told KH I planned on starting the revision of one story. That did not happen.
I got a rejection for "Passerby":
Thank you for sending us "Passerby" to consider for CRAFT. We're sorry this isn’t the right story for us right now. Please keep us in mind for future submissions.
Sincerely,
The Editors
Today's musical accompaniment is Hank Williams, Jr. doing Lynyrd Skynyrd. I heard him do this live thirty years or more, and impressed me by his version. Enjoy.
