Can Russia Benefit from Its Military Failure?

That is the question asked in Occupation of Ukraine?!. Its proposed answer is scary. Changing circumstances may shift some of the weight given to particular points but the essential question of how the invasion benefits remains. That if Putin sees a benefit, achieves a benefit, is a very scary prospect and one I have seen considered elsewhere.
