Different Kinds of Editing

I ran across this article, What Are the 6 Different Types of Editing?, from Writer's Digest. The six types are:

1. Developmental/substantive edit
2. Overview edit
3. Line edit
4. Sensitivity/authenticity read/edit
5. Copy edit
6. Proofread

A friend of mine, who is an author, and myself have discussed the influence of MFA graduates on modern American writing. I tend to agree but this article makes mewonder if those grads are not taught how to edit.
