I Think I Poisoned Myself Yesterday

When I got home yesterday, I had a headache and was tired. What I am not sure is if I took a water pill before I napped, but I know I took one after. I gave up the day around 7:30 last night. When I woke around 10 and started to make way to the bathroom, either there was an earthquake or my legs started to give way. I made it. Afterward, the legs were twitching and twinging. I woke two more times. Still light-headed, but without the rubbery legs. At 3 AM, I decided against being able to work. That was probably a good idea. When I did wake up, I managed to stay up right for two hours, then back to bed - light-headed, nauseous. I have been up now for three hours, and had my first full meal of the day. I am thinking there is a sinus infection in my head; the legs are better. There was a trip to the convenience store for smokes and RC Cola. I felt lucky no policeman saw me, I walked like I was drunk. When I have been asleep, my dreams have been weird, almost psychedelic.

No sense in wasting free time, so I started a short story. Yeah, why should being off in my head be a problem? Missing punctuation, weird spellings - that's what I got.

I have learned a few things between collapses: the White House press corps is incompetent, rattlesnakes and American history, MAGA wants to rewrite history to justify their power grab, Ross Macdonald is still worth reading, Black Bass are strange, and Trump rewrites the Constitution.

Google offered to add links, so I let them. It is only an experiment. My links are these:

What if History Died by Sanctioned Ignorance? (The New Republic)

Actual American Rattlesnakes (JSTOR Daily)

The Backlist: John Copenhaver and Polly Stewart Revisit Ross Macdonald’s “The Zebra-Striped Hearse” (CrimeReads)

I did engage in some outright fun:
