Shakespeare - Why He Matters, Adapting Him To The Screen

 I believe two things about Shakespeare: 1) he is wonderful, and 2) how he is taught in our schools is not wonderful. These opinions were formed when I was around 15 and read Hamlet. My Aunt Mary Ellen had sent us the books my cousin Paul had read in prep school, It was summer, there was nothing else to do, and I had both curiosity about what my Paul had studied and the ambition to keep up with him. Reading the footnotes taught me Shakespeare was fun, like in being alive.

While in prison, I found Bollywood. Haider is my favorite adaption of Hamlet.
