Sunday "Problem Solving" went to:
- Litro Magazine
- Moon City Review
- The Los Angeles Review
- Red Rock Review Literary Journal
- Southeast Review
- New Orleans Review
- Blue Lake Review
- Identity Theory
- The Baltimore Review
I have 50 submissions out and 27 are for "Problem Solving". If I get 27 rejections, then I am rewriting the story.
Then there was work done on Dad's trust case.
CC came over on Sunday. She liked my pork stew. We talked about my group therapy, looked for her daughter, and hashed out our relationship, again. Of course, she fell asleep after eating. This is why the futon she gave me is in the front room - her place to sit and to sleep. As I told my solo counselor, it is a safe place for her. No drugs, no one using her. She woke me in the middle of the night with her coughing. I had a horrendous case of heartburn, so I got up and covered her with a blanket.
She woke when I left for work. I turned down her offer to drive me down the street; I told her to get more rest.
Work was a bit rough. I had to catch up on what did not get done on Friday and the day's work was fast-paced. The boss got grumpy when I told him I needed to take a personal day next Tuesday. St. Photini is doing a liturgy here. I was not happy with his grumpiness.
When I got home, CC was still there. Shocked me - both her presence and the fact she had cleaned up the place. I thought she would go off and do her storage bins. Nope. From 5:30 am until I got home, she cleaned and organized my place. She left me speechless. I kept thanking her. I am still thanking her. I wanted to take pictures of it and she refused, didn't think it was any big deal. I am not used to, or comfortable, with others doing things for me that I should have done on my own. An impressive woman. Now, if she would just get healthy.
She dropped me off at Meridan Health for my counseling session. That went well. The group leaves me wondering what good this mental health process does for me. As I told this counselor, I assume that if I were dangerous to others, he would let me know. It is a safe bet he will.
I got some supplies at the Family Dollar store on Tillotson, but could not find a dish rack. Having missed the #1 bus, I walked east to catch the #2. That took me home.
After a dinner of more stew, I finished off what I was working on for Kokomo. I left the dishes undone - another headache and it was almost 9 pm.
What I have planned for today - work, dishes, email, "Chasing Ashes". But it is the 13th!
The Kokomo hearing next week has been continued.
The morning's music I dedicate to CC:
