I Guess Monday Was A Progress of Sorts

I was off work by noon. CC came and got me. Her storage bin was robbed Sunday night, and she was in a state. She gave me the lowdown when we got back to my place. She had to leave before my sister arrived, the police were to come out and make a report. I piddled my time away. Maintenance was to show up to work on the oven, so I decided against cooking. My sister showed up, and we got the bed showed up. The police still had not shown up for CC. My sister and I could not find the bolts for the second table. My sister wanted to get home after stopping at one of her beauty supply stores. The store was at Northwest Plaza, Since I wanted to go to Staples, I left my sister. I called CC and she said she would meet me at Staples. Sister and CC and I talked for a bit in the parking lot, then sister headed home while CC and I went to eat at the wings place in Northwest Plaza. The food was good - I had fish and chips, and she had a burger.  She dropped me off at home. I had gotten one of my queasy headaches, so I laid down for an hour. MW called and we talked. She helped me get my mind organized. CC had not made it back, I watched a show on YouTube and made some notes for this post before calling it a night. I woke about midnight, no CC, but a text that was 2 hours old said she was on her way. No idea what went wrong. Now, I need to get ready for work.

The notes from last night.

Biden calls for supreme court changes and decries Trump immunity ruling

The Republicans call it an attack on the Supreme Court's independence. To me, it seems the independence the Republicans want is for the Court to turn us into a dictatorship.

The Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band and opener Lovesick Moan preform at Canan Commons

I forgot to mention how Saturday night I went downtown to see Reverend Peyton and his Damn Big Band. I missed the opening act, act a quesadilla from Los Patrona food truck, and got an hour of Reverend Peyton. It seemed a good idea to break up my routine.

Biden’s Oval Office speech amounts to a wistful first farewell

He also hinted in the remarks that he himself felt he deserved a second term but acknowledged that the doubt about him within his party was growing too all-consuming for him to overcome.

“I believe my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America’s future — all merited a second term,” he said. “But nothing, nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy. That includes personal ambition.”

Both are a bit older, but here they are.
