I woke early to get at my writing. After breakfasting, I walked down to McClure's for Coke Zero. I will be in for the day. Then I went to the email.
Early Sunday morning readings from The Guardian:
‘I’m never bored’: Willem Dafoe on art, yoga – and alpacas (an actor I have liked since Streets of Fire; proves he is as smart as he acts.)
Megan Nolan: ‘People say you shouldn’t do an issues novel’ (which I do not think answered the headline, but at the same time think I want to keep an eye out for her.)
Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon review – classical tragedy as a Celtic caper(not a rousing endorsement of a reeview, but one that may have give ideas of what can be done)
‘‘We are working-class women of color’: the long-shot socialist run for the White House (for my nephew Ben)
This is 1975. Not one I ever heard on the radio, and it feels ironic from a singer whose biggest hit looked back to 1962. If there were too many people looking back almost 50 years ago, then there are even more now. We grow from the past into the future, if we do not use the past to grow, only as a refuge from the present, then we have no future.
Now a break from email to "Love Stinks". I fear Tony Soprano stalks me. Also, I need to get started on cooking my ham. I invtied CC to come back, if she wanted some.
