- Bravery
- Generosity
- Magnificence
- Magnanimity
- Mildness
- Friendliness
- Truthfulness
- Wit
- Justice
- Prudence
- Wisdom
I would move prudence above bravery, and doing so will admit it is because of what I have learned since March 11, 2010.
Where I am today, I see a different community exists. I think we learn we are a nation of different ethical cultures. Some sociologist should go out into our prison and jails and schools and see if there is anything to my thesis. And why stop there? Go ahead and see what our political and business classes think are the virtues needed for a good life.

[Feel free to list your idea of the ethics we need for the good life below in the comments section, as no one is going to undertake to check my thesis. Maybe you would let us know why you choose the particular virtues and why you rank them as you do. sch 1/30/23.]
[I do love serendipity, today's The Guardian published an op/ed piece by David Mitchell, Let’s hear it for the dying virtue of modesty. A modest proposal that self-promotion is not a good thing for us, for our culture.sch 2/5/2023.]
