First oops - I misread a webpage:
Thank you so much for your interest in publishing with the University of Tampa Press. We decided not to open our novella submission window quite yet. We had a great response for our last window, and we are still considering those submissions. Please check back on our website and socials for submission window updates.
In the meantime, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,Julie

That came in 3 days ago.
Second screw-up - I have been just too tired to get to these posts. Not that anything interesting has happened that I need to report. I go to work, I catch the bus back home; I make a trip to McClure's for caffeine and nicotine. Outside of work, I see no one other than convenience store clerks. I did make several calls yesterday about apartment rentals. Walden eventually chafed at Thoreau and so is this room chafing on me. I was too tired to finish watching Fargo last night.
Third, I have more rejections.
Thank you for sending us Road Tripping. Our editors have read it carefully, but unfortunately they are not right for us at this time.
We received a large amount of quality submissions during this open reading period. While we wish we could accept more work, we are a small operation and can only publish a few titles a year.
We wish you best of luck in finding a home for your manuscripts.
Sincerely,
The people of Long Day Press

Well, that is the novella, and this is a short story (I need to look and see if this is the latest revision that is being rejected):
"Between The Dead and The Dying" has been carefully read by our editors and, unfortunately, we feel it is not right for Hypertext. We do thank you for allowing us to consider your work and we wish you luck placing it elsewhere.
Sincerely,
The Editors of Hypertext Magazine
I need to wrap this up. Work will start soon, my left shoulder is bloody stiff, and the cat wants to eat. The sheriff today.
LITERARY EVENTS AROUND INDIANA – JANUARY 2024
Oh, what I did accomplish - last night I got enough done on "Love Stinks" to make me feel it justified my existence!
Listening to the arguments put forth by Trump's lawyers in front of a federal Court of Appeals made me realize I was not such a bad lawyer. I guess some people will demean themselves for enough money.
