I did not know that what was I had when I was a teenager, but I must have sensed it when I stopped thinking of becoming a writer. Then I realized it was not a paying proposition. Going forward with something that would not pay the bills, was madness. That the law became a money loser only came to me a year or so before my arrest. I accepted the madness when I started writing again - obviously, what had been rational to my twenty-one-year-old self had not worked out as planned.
I wrote all that as a preface to saying Bex O’Brian's Burn This captures that madness and the joy of that madness. Read it, writers.
