Back Into the Breach, Dear Readers

Up at six, after my wild night on the town.

Starting the morning with last Thursday's Greaser's Lunchbox. Remembering those who died this year.

How do we describe Trump and his pals? Palter, Dissemble, and Other Words for Lying is a good start.

I forgot to mention another rejection for "Problem Solving" - which has been picked up. I think I need to do a better job of keeping track of what is going where.

Thank you so much for sharing your work with us during our second open reading period. We are truly grateful to have had the chance to encounter so many unique perspectives and styles. Unfortunately, your submission wasn’t selected for this issue, but please keep us in mind during future open submission periods. We wish you the best of luck with all your creative endeavors.

Your Old Pal,

Karolinn

That was from Old Pal out of Portland. Nice looking magazine, and maybe I did overreach here.

Nuvo published Nostalgia, Nervousness and Angst…and Bill Paxton: Indy's confession queen is happily sad and horny, an interview which I read as being about the Bloomington/Indianapolis poetry/performance scene:

While most of us hide away our diary with a mortal dread for fear of discovery, Erin Brady has opened hers on stage in a variety show format featuring a loveable mix of miscreants sharing poetry, dance, song, and, literally at times, their diaries.

Dear Diary is an example of house-curated productions at The White Rabbit Cabaret, this one created by Brady. For 13 years, this venue has offered up a wide range of truly unique experiences through concerts, burlesque shows, comedy, poetry, dance parties, and more. The Rabbit has national acts and special performances, and there are multiple series designed by staff. Erin Brady, stepping into the role of host on stage rather than behind the bar, has put together four shows over the past year, inviting a blend of performers who provide a variety show feel.

The plan was to catch the  8:30 Mall bus. It has been raining all night and I think I will pass on crossing the mucky areas by the railroad tracks. I will catch the 8:45 Whitely bus, with the penalty being on an hourly basis. But a trip to Payless is needed.

That give me an hour and a half to get dressed. Also, time for working on "True Love Ways Gone Astray."

The computer crashed, so I need to reboot, again.
