Who is the American Dream? by Rita Kohn reviews "The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin,” live on Indiana Repertory Theatre’s Upperstage through May 15, and streaming May 2-15.

Stuff reminds Shakespeare, is what our dreams are made of. And so we are into Harry Chin’s stuff—what his daughter is putting into a box, what is in boxes already packed and sealed. And as the breaking point, something new from his daughter, and unwrapped by her. What that triggers is Harry’s old stuff—not so neatly, so lovingly wrapped. I felt a mashup of Lear and DonQuixote on the cliff of madness, with little more than a stiff wind to propel Harry over.

Makes me wish for a car and better income.
