Attacking KBJ as Soft on Crime

Not just any crime but those I committed. Read Why Josh Hawley Is Smearing Ketanji Brown Jackson as Soft on.... from Mother Jones. I would say the word omitted in the title refers to a mental health issue and not a crime.

Much of Hawley’s criticism lies in Judge Jackson’s deviations from the uniform, extremely aggressive historical treatment of defendants in child p*rnography cases, even when there may be details that make certain violations more or less severe than others. She, for example, has referred to certain types of child p*rn cases as potentially “less serious” than others. The “danger” he warns of is in how Jackson has been willing to charge certain offenders below the suggestions of federal sentencing guidelines in the pursuit of treating child p*rn cases that are different, differently.

No one commenting on Ketanji Brown Jackson 's confirmation hearings has pointed how for almost 12 years the Second Circuit Court of Appeals stopped using the guidelines in question. I have written of that case here and suggest you read it.
