I continue exploring online serialized fiction. Today I read the first chapter of Daniel Alagrin's Augmentia on Substack.
I really like the opening as a hook to pull the reader into the story. Seems to me the real question is this: is there enough of a cliffhanger for motivating the reader to continue reading? Therein lies the real question for all stories. If I were not living from paycheck to paycheck, I would go on reading.
One story that I rediscovered in the manuscripts is s novella length science fiction story. This I might experiment with on Substack. That is after doing s rew rewrites.
