Subversive Art

I just finished reading Sam Kahn's Against Shock. I did not know what to expect. I found a detailed argument on what was wrong with art as a subversive act and how quietism might actually be more subversive. I had ideas similar years ago about how rock music had built upon shock until nothing shocked any more and the music had become meaningless. Mr. Kahn goes further and deeper in his essay. For me, he points a way forward. Do read this essay and see what you think.
