Shoutout for Gotham Writers Workshop

Being Christmas, let me tip you to the Gotham Writers Workshop, which describes itself as:

Gotham Writers Workshop is a creative home in New York City and Online where writers develop their craft and come together in the spirit of discovery and fellowship. We’ve been teaching creative writing and business writing since 1993.

Gotham Writers also publishes The Razor:

...We publish two pieces each month—one fiction, one nonfiction. For now, we do not publish poetry (though we so appreciate the poet’s artistry with words). Each published piece will also be presented in audio format.

What we’re looking for:

The Razor wants your best story in a 2,000-word box.

The story that could have been 3,000 words, but didn’t need to be.

Surprise us with how deep your simplicity can be. That doesn’t mean we don’t like literary, or stories that take place in a character’s head. Be it minimal or maximal, send us a story where every moment counts. Where every word counts.

Their YouTube seminars start here.

Full disclosure probably requires I mention having dropped on them my story "Colonel Tom."
