Snow Screwing Up The Day

Sunday, I meant to take it easy. This does not work well for me. It leaves me wondering why I am not getting more done.

CC showed up around midnight. I went to sleep. She slept in the front room. When I went to church, she was still asleep. I read a little online when I came back. CC woke, I took a nap. She decided to put my kitchen in order. She left later; a friend of hers had a stroke on Saturday. I went back to email and reading.

Another rejection arrived for "Agnes":

A Fertile Investigation - by Luke Evans (Underside Stories) - was an amusing short, occult detective story.

Exploring the Restored Version of 'Once Upon a Time in America'- a movie that I think was horribly mutilated - never watch the original movie release, I paid money for it back in the day - by a great director also regularly abused by Hollywood.

The philosophers who predicted “ultimate” forms of consciousness (Big Think) - because consciousness fascinates me.

Haldane concluded from this that the “universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose.” I believe the same applies to consciousness itself: It isn’t just stranger than we know — in all its possible forms, realized and unrealized — but stranger than we can ever know.

Up at 4 AM, then back to sleep around 5, to overslept until almost 9 AM. This should have told me to just stay in bed and hope the day would go away. Nope, I needed caffeine, and it was snowing, and I decided not to walk 6 blocks to get Coke Zero. Missed the first bus. Got the second. Now, I was behind. I was to meet CC at the Social Security office for her appointment. I was downtown a little before 11; only the snow had screwed up the schedule. From the bus station, I walked to the Social Security office. She did her interview. I got the bus back downtown, she went her way, and I got back here around noon. I finished a blog post. Read a bit of the email. Including the following:

The Haunted Indiana Amusement Grounds That Never Shut Down (on the Ohio River, never knew about this)

The Truth About Cardinals in Indiana You Didn’t Know  (and I did not know this)

Throughout history, cardinals have been symbols of hope, renewal, and loved ones’ presence. In many cultures, a cardinal sighting is believed to represent a spiritual visit from someone who has passed away.

Their bright red color symbolizes vitality, love, and faith, while their year-round presence makes them a sign of constancy and endurance.

E sent me this The Three Monks and the Devil.

Bayleaf Indian Restaurant continues to bring smiles to the Muncie community since opening in September

MW's problems with three appeals continues, so I need tend to fixing things again.

And there was not all that much snow.
