Turbulence

I have been too busy writing and goofing off to get caught up here.

Tuesday was a long day at work. I came home, started doing some research and writing. When I called it a day, there came a problem: I could not seem to sleep.

Wednesday went well enough, until the end. I saw the physician's assistant, then came home. I ate a version of hot and sour soup that I thought up: soy sauce, Sriracha, mushrooms. Pretty that was when I watched Voodoo Macbeth on Tubi, more on that later, but now I suggest you look it up. Then I could not sleep well, again.

Thursday: a shorter day, came home, napped and had weird dreams, started writing, then the stomach started bothering me. Earlier, I had talked with JB about coming over Saturday, but when I got back I saw the thing was at 7 pm, so called in a rain check. I laid down and had a visit from CC. We went to the convenience store, then she left. She is sick, again. I went back to the writing and had a good streak. I talked to KH on the phone.  Still, having trouble sleeping. I got up at 5 AM instead of 4.

No group today. Instead, I need to take care of business.

Thank you for submitting your manuscript, Road Tripping, for the Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Prize! There were many incredible manuscripts submitted this year. Unfortunately, yours was not selected, but we truly appreciate your sending it to us. FC2 is an author-run collective, and so all of us understand firsthand what it's like to receive this kind of disappointing news. Our contests drew hundreds of submissions, and the selection process was difficult. Although we cannot offer you publication at this time, we are happy to consider your work in our future contests, so if you are interested in giving us another chance, please check our website and social media for updates.

We will be announcing the contest winner in the next week or so on our website and social media. Thank you again for thinking of us and for giving us the opportunity to read your work.

Sincerely,

The FC2 Board of Directors
