Another very short day at work, another working at home, then the chiropractor. The only other people to see were the bus drivers getting me around town and the people running the convenience store down the street. I am sure someone thinks I am lonely, but I do not feel it. I am not even feeling alone.
I did speak briefly with my sister.
One thing I must admit is that I have been spending time with movies and TV shows. I cannot - never have been able to - tolerate silence. On YouTube, I rewatched The Wind and The Lion - a favorite Sean Connery movie since I saw it at Anderson's State Theater. On Netflix, it has been foreign stuff - Uprising, a South Korean movie, and Judge Dee, a Japanese production. Uprising was a bit slow and sometimes confusing (it might require a less offhand viewing than I give things), but it was worth it in the end.
When I came up for air, I found Our Fearless Leader has found the way to peace in the Middle East: Trump Tower Gaza.
Trump uses Netanyahu press conference to suggest the US will 'own' Gaza (The Independent).
KH wrote me last night: "He does seem to be obsessed with expansionism."
No, Trump understands the value of good beachfront property. The Palestinians do not, obviously. They are willing to die than increase their property values.
The Republicans over at the Capitol Building show why Trump bosses them around so easily - they are people of little imagination: Trump’s plan to ‘take over’ Gaza Strip confuses GOP lawmakers (POLITICO).
It would do away with foreign aid to Gaza, which is what the Republicans want to do to help cut government waste. Gutting USAID funding helps Trump cut government waste (USA Today Opinion).
The Democrats are foolish, thinking that we owe anything to foreigners, that foreign aid will improve our relations with other countries. We should let the sick and ailing foreigners perish, then take over their land. Think of it - Trump Towers Ghana, Trump Towers Borneo, Trump Towers Guyana! Golden Towers of Peace!
Who cares if we offend our friends and allies! Canadians grapple with a sense of betrayal after Trump’s trade war and 51st state threats (PBS News)
Foreigners do not buy from us. They only rip us off. If they do not perish from this earth, then we should send in the gunboats and make them buy our stuff.
KH thinks the imperial presidency is back with a vengeance.
Why should America not have someone following in the footsteps of Hirohito, Nicholas II, Xuantong, or Romulus "Augustulus"? What American could better emulate such powerful people than Donald J. Trump? He knows how to talk loudly and carry a big stick. He is a man's man. Trump has the wisdom of Solomon. He will make America great again, just like Caracalla made Rome great again.
Now to get ready for work!
