Indiana's Literary Scene - This Month

From the Indiana Writer's Center: Literary Events Around Indiana – September 2024.

Which, as usual, leaves me wishing I had transportation to Indianapolis.

These two particularly interest me: Loudmouth Books Presents: Boozy Book Fair (9/28/2024)

Join Loudmouth Books at The AMP at 16 Tech for our first ever Boozy Book Fair! If you've been chasing the high of the Scholastic Book Fair since the 4th grade, we've got you covered. The Boozy Book Fair is an opportunity to shop a curated selection of your favorite books from the store alongside all the pens, prints, candles, and tote bags you could dream of. (And unlike in 4th grade, you don't even have to use your lunch money to buy them—unless you want to . . . no take backsies though!)

and Proof: A Midwest Lit Fest (10/5/2024):

Looking for proof that Indiana is a great place to be a writer, reader, and lover of all things literary?

Join Indiana Humanities at the Harrison Center for the Arts (1505 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, IN 46202) for the inaugural Proof: A Midwest Lit Fest on Saturday Oct. 5, 2024 from 10am–8pm Eastern.

Proof will celebrate the power of writing that grows in the Midwest. Things to look forward to: a book fair with local booksellers; conversations about the literary Midwest; local and regional author readings; opportunities to connect with publishers and literary magazines; workshops led by experienced writers; bookish activities for all ages; food, drink, music, games, and prizes!

Proof is free and open to the public, though we encourage you to register so we can let you know about exciting festival updates. A full schedule will be released in early September.
