Tail Chasing, People Dying, Immigrants in Muncie, The Delta Bombers

I managed to get one post written from my pretrial detention journal. I have another started. Yet I could not find the energy to type up my daily report.

The big thing is I am having these complete failures of energy. I am back here for about an hour and then I am completely drained of all energy.

I have worked, and been to the convenience store, and the grocery on Wednesday and Thursday.

Today, I did the group therapy thing - I am still missing the metrics for treatment and how it relates to me - and to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

I got back here and here came the collapse. I have been doing a little reading online and putting away dishes and washing other and taking out the trash. Nothing major was accomplished today.

Laundry, tomorrow.

Some material i ran across the past few days.

Gena Rowlands, Oscar-nominated 'A Woman Under the Influence' and 'The Notebook' actress, dies at 94. I first saw her in Gloria, and I had a crush on her ever since. Another part of my past is gone.

Ball State University to Host 2024 Civic Learning Symposium: Education, Dialogue, & Deliberation in Our Democracy

The Center for Economic and Civic Learning (CECL) at Ball State University will host the 2024 Civic Learning Symposium Sept. 27-28 at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. This annual event is a forum for faculty, educators, and community members to convene, share insights, and explore innovative approaches to civics, education, and community engagement.

The theme for this year’s symposium, “Education, Dialogue, & Deliberation in Our Democracy,” highlights the importance of dialogue and deliberation within the educational system and broader democratic society. In an era characterized by polarization and division, the theme also reflects the growing need to foster open, constructive conversations and thoughtful deliberation, bridge diverse perspectives, promote understanding, and cultivate a culture of civic responsibility.

Trump keeps blathering about immigrants taking jobs and here is more of what I see of immigrants: Buyer’s Market to Create Up to 60 New Jobs at Former Pepsi Building

For Moghees Sheikh, choosing Muncie as the first location of Buyer’s Market was mostly chance. “The opportunity opened up at the right time,” commented Sheikh about purchasing the former Macy’s building. Now, nearly 4 years later, the company is putting down more roots. “I uprooted my life to move to this community, and I’m not going anywhere. I keep telling my friends about Muncie,” the entrepreneur, formerly from Canada, explained.

Buyer’s Market operates with a simple model: Develop contracts with major retailers to resell overstock, providing steep discounts to customers and reducing unsold product waste. After the overwhelming success of the Muncie location, the chain has now expanded to 8 locations in Indiana and has recently leased the former Pepsi building on North Walnut in Muncie to provide more opportunities to expand.

The voyage of the Altar Stone: A Stonehenge mystery solved (maybe)

Bay Area rock musician and KFOX radio host Greg Kihn dies at 75 (SFGate).

Greg Kihn, the Bay Area rock musician behind the 1980s hits “Jeopardy” and “The Breakup Song,” died on Tuesday of Alzheimer’s, according to a statement shared on his official website. He was 75.

I do not think I will go see this movie, but I am glad to have read 'Alien: Romulus,' reviewed by a frightened dad (SFGate). It is a hoot.

A band I want to recommend: The Delta Bombers.
