If you have not read this blog for very long, let me introduce you to the strange workings of my mind.
Until recently, maybe it was some time in prison, I had not thought of Choc-Ola. A chocolate milk drink in a glass bottle that was around 50 years ago. I know I found people in prison from the East Coast who had never heard of it. Only when I stopped doing 120 mph through life did I realize I had no idea what had become of Choc-Ola - along with several other things.
Turns out I was not the only one interested in the subject. Dawn Mitchell wrote an article for the Indy Star, Whatever happened to Choc-Ola? It is alive and well in Indianapolis.
See, one thing that I am trying to do with my fiction is to include all the detritus that makes up our lives - Choc-Ola and bubble gum pop and slogans from TV commercials and bad movies as well as the more high-minded. That is history.
