Two days in a row off of work, I am not sure what to do with myself. I woke at 5 Am, breakfasted, and started working on "Only The Dead The Dying." Around 8 am, I decided why not go back to bed for an hour or so. The cat camps out on the bed with me (having reappeared about 7 AM).
I get up and tidy the place up, the cleaning crew is coming sometime this morning. I check my email. From the email, I want to point out The 5 Dos and Don’ts of Self-Promotion for Authors by Ellie Matama. I take a walk down to McClure's for caffeine and nicotine.
I did my laundry. The cleaning crew shows up. I ate. Music was downloaded and the browser crashed a few times.
Going on around 1 pm, I take the bus downtown. I have errands to run. Only the dentist is closed. I had a yen for ice cream, but the place on Walnut is closed. I take a walk down the street. Where I find one of the clothing shops is going out of business. They had a dress I thought would have looked good on CC. There is a blue version still on the rack, and I buy. $18 for someone I have not seen much of for months. I switched my itinerary and delivered it to her. She was home, and she liked the dress. I get back to the bus stop just in time. The bus driver is surprised to see me, and we talk about me turning up in the strangest places. I stay on the same bus when it goes north. I stop at Palyess before walking over to DR. Tavel. Having a sack of groceries and an eye appointment, I go home.
KH texted me to call him. I thought something was wrong. He wanted to tell me about reading "Only The Dead and The Dying". He thinks it is ready for submission.
I have spent the rest of the night going down to McClure's for cat food and caffeine and finding places to submit my short story collection.
Here is where I submitted my collection:
I have one other place which wants a query letter and I am too bloody tired to do that tonight.
Thank you, Submission Grinder!
And that is the end of my Tuesday. Fargo comes on in less than an hour.
