Rain Check and Rejections

for Wednesday and Thursday I re-wrote a story from 2014. I made some notes on Thursday, but was too worn out to publish. Tonight, I came from work, went o get groceries, missed the bus back at 5:45, and finally got back here at almost 7 PM. I got through the email, and have lost all energy.

I have things to say, that being the reason a rain check.

WXPN is doing the Seventies tonight. I will listen while a I read about Christopher Marlowe. I do not think it will be long before I fall asleep. So, tomorrow.

I got this much collected on Thursday from when I got home and before I started drifting:

Margot Douaihy on Queering Crime Fiction and Embracing Metaphysical Mystery - rather interesting interview which includes comments on why religious figures are not seen often enough in crime fiction.

Ireland’s Upper Sea – wonders interpenetrating the mundane and vice versa.

Phonies: J.D. Salinger and Wielding Copyright as Self-Protection – I am not terribly fond of Salinger; especially after re-reading Catcher in the Rye during my imprisonment.

Of those rejections, "The Local Boy Who Made Good" got two today and "Reunion" got one yesterday.

Thank you for your submission to Press Pause Press. We did not find "The Local Boy Who Made Good" a fit for Press Pause at this time, but we appreciated the chance to consider your work, and we wish you the best of luck finding it a home.

Sincerely,

"Local Boy Made Good" was also rejected by Random Sample Review:
