Thursday - A Rejection, A Little Shopping, Nothing Earth-Shattering

Got off about 1:45, off to the bus, and from the bus station up to Aldi's. Home around 4. Fell asleep in front of the TV, work about 6. Not a very useful life, is it? I did some reading and a worked on one of my writing posts. Now it is 9:22. Feeling almost useless.

The rejection:

Hi there, thanks for the writing, but we're not going to use what you sent
us for a future issue. Thank you so much for your interest in cc&d
(Children, Churches and Daddies) literary magazine; we are glad that you
took the time to submit your writing to us.

That was for "The Sloe Gin Effect" - and feels a little snippy. Maybe they do not like it being a wet t-shirt contest? I did read this interview, Six Questions for Janet Kuypers, Editor, cc&d magazine ("Children, Churches and Daddies").

I cannot avoid politics, so here is an example of the brilliance of Indiana's General Assembly: State outlaws book fees leaving public schools facing shortfalls,

Senate Bill 395 was passed by the General Assembly earlier this year. It shifts the responsibility for paying the fees to the state. As course materials moved beyond traditional books to resources heavy in technology, including IPads and Chromebook tablets, book fees escalated into the hundreds of dollars.

While school administrators say it is good that parents no longer have to foot the bill for technology driven classrooms, there is concern that state is not fully covering the costs of course materials at many schools.

Just in case you're interested in the wider world: China complicit in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, says MI6 chief

And a little history: Maxim Litvinov: Stalin’s only good guy?

History and art, art history: Delts Don’t Lie

Reckless, heedless, still. Submitting a story White Cresset. If I had this kind of nerve 40 years ago.... I sent them "The Kids Are Not All Right." Which should raise eyebrows, even if it lacks a wt t-shirt contest.

It is 10:31, and I am stopping here.

More o come.
