A desultory week, so far.
Two rejections, the first from Sunday's email.
Thanks for sending Road Tripping. I don't think I can find the right readers for this, but I appreciate the opportunity and hope you find a good home for your work.

And this from Monday morning, just as I was closing out for the morning:
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work. Unfortunately, we don't feel it's a good fit for our journal.
Please keep in mind that opinions about writing are highly subjective, and just because a piece isn't right for us doesn’t mean it won’t be perfect for someone else. We'll be happy to consider any new work you care to submit in the future.

I am thinking of no more attempts at publishing parts of my stuff, instead to focus on the whole thing. This even though I got a very insightful critique from Joel C on Tuesday. He has me thinking of revamping what I have put together as “Road Tripping.” I spent last night writing him a response, thanking him for his lengthy critique.
Monday night I had a long telephone call with MW. She reminds me why I do not miss practicing law. Then one with last night with KH, letting him critique a future post.
I await word that the paperback version of “Masque of the Red Death: The Play” is live on Amazon.
The counselor was seen yesterday, a refreshing time, as always. I need to get my Zoloft prescription refilled. I have been lazy about getting to CVS.
CC came up Monday – surprising me. I fed her some of my pork and beans. She liked it enough to eat two bowls and fall asleep for a half hour. We went down to the Attic Window and to Dollar General. She got a hat. She said buying it was silly; she needs more silliness. It really has been the most I have seen her laugh since we have been talking. She still seems so frail, so depleted.
Sunday, I spoke with K and with my sister. K asked if I had seen CC. I told her I had not and so when she did show up, I was surprised.
Work has been good, I have hand my afternoons free; that I have not been using my time wisely is my fault.
What else? I saw two raccoons while riding the bus to work, yesterday. It is hot and will be getting hotter. Nothing new typed. There are some things that I have been thinking about, but I am not awake long enough, early enough, to make anything of them now. Life is good, I need to get more writing done. The bus comes within the next 30 minutes.
