America Is Not Racist, But Racism Has Run Through America

 America can no more racist than it can be a Christian nation. People are racists, people are Christians.

American history can be seen as a constant struggle between the racists and our better angels.

We slaughtered Native Americans. We also hung people for killing Native Americans.

We enslaved Africans. We also fought to abolish slavery.

We cannot say we have not been racists, take a look at Black women have deep roots in country music.

But we can be more, we can overcome our past. The MAGA Republicans would like us to forget our past. They would leave us shabbier than we were. We are Americans, we can do better.
