Rod McKuen

 Okay, here is a weird one for you. I have never read Rod McKuen. I did grow up at a time when Rod McKuen seemed to be in every bookstore. Poetry was never really my thing. It probably shows in my own writing, but it is what it is. Yet, curiosity had me read Rod McKuen Was the Bestselling Poet in American History. What Happened? from Slate. He was bigger than I knew, and he was also a whole lot stranger than I ever knew. This is one of those stories showing how weird America was - a weirdness missing from the MAGA stories. Still, don't think I will willingly read his poetry.
