I do not know if the new CPAP caused or just accelerated the sinus infection. The humidifier may have just given a new lease of life. It wears one down, but yesterday was worse. How does the head produce such great globules of goo? At one point yesterday, it felt like a clamp was covering both my ears. It passed, and I spent the rest of the day wheezing and choking. I got home, went to sleep. I woke a couple of times. My head so packed, the air blowing in from the machine had nowhere to go. Rattling in my chest was annoying. I woke this morning before 6:30 with still too much congestion. A hot shower helped with that, but not so much with the energy. Today is the first time without the restaurant job. I have a paycheck waiting for me. I have a tax refund check to deposit. I am without a phone. Time to get some writing down. The pressure on the right ear has gone down. If I leave, it will be later in the afternoon. Groceries need bought. I have not seen much of the world these past few days, work and home and repeat. McClure's for soda.
Some things I would like to say feel trivial right now. Especially when feeling pressed by a schedule. What does it matter how unappealing are pierced noses when Putin talks about tactical nukes? This is the guy Trump thought was so smart? Right there ought to make anyone with functioning gray matter to see Trump's judgment sucks.
Saw a bit on MSNBC this morning about Latin men being attracted to Trump for his machismo. If Trump is manliness incarnate, then I am Oscar Wilde. Maybe I am too old, grew up on the wrong kind of movies. Trump has always been a loudmouthed braggart, crude and with too much money, no sense of shame except his own survival. He got played by North Korea, he got stroked by Saudi Arabia, and he made googly eyes at Putin, and backed down from the Chinese. If America was ever in need of being made great again, it was after he left the White House. If he thinks he's a gangster, he was Sonny Corleone and not Michael. Or more to my way of thinking: Humphrey Bogart in Angels With Dirty Faces rather than James Cagney. Trump talks and bullies, and fails to act. He is Edward Arnold in Meet John Doe, not Gary Cooper. When did childishness become manly?
Seems to me, these strident childish voices resemble more Wilmer the Gunsel in The Maltese Falcon. They did not go to fight in Vietnam - they ran away from that particular government service. More recently, they ran away from the rioters they incite. They plume themselves as much as any of the drag queens they seem to despise. I will give drag queens a better class of people - they do not get people killed for their purported ideals. Maybe here is the real lesson of Vietnam for people like Trump - how easy it is to get other people to die for one's goals.
No responsibility from the likes of Trump or John Hawley in their pursuit of power. Quite unlike with the likes of me, who are kept under lifetime government supervision for our irresponsibility.
Enough of this. If we are to slide into a civil war, Americans killing Americans, nothing I say here will make a difference, and I have my own work to do.
