Writer: Margaret Atwood Profiled.

Margaret Atwood having a collection of essays forthcoming, The Guardian published Margaret Atwood on feminism, culture wars and speaking her mind: ‘I’m very willing to listen, but not to be scammed’. Which includes:

...What fascinates her is not the disproven allegation, but how UBC reacted: in their rush to do the right thing, they did the wrong thing, by treating him as though his guilt were a given. It’s a subject that reverberates through her fiction – in books such as The Robber Bride – and an example of her refusal to bow to ideological purity. Her clear-eyed focus on what’s fair and true over any kind of ideology, with little concern about public criticism, is part of what has made her personally so inspiring and her work so enduring.

I became quite attached to Margaret Atwood these past 13 years. Keep reading you will see the extent of my attachment. I think reading this profile will help explain how she attracted me.
