Joan Didion Has Died

Joan Didion was one of those authors I knew by name. I knew her from seeing a copy of her Book of Common Prayer in Stephanie Richardson's class in 10th grade. Which explains why I link that teacher with Didion and to the Seventies. I finally found time to read Didion in prison - Slouching Towards Bethlehem (essays) and Play It As It Lays. She never attracted me the way Joyce Carol Oates did, but Didion is another great writer.

The Guardian had her obituary here. If you go to the end, you will links to all Didion related material published by The Guardian.
