A Movie Hodgepodge

I bookmarked 4,000+ Free Movies Online: Great Classics, Indies, Noir, Westerns, Documentaries & More before I signed up for Netflix. Considering the problems I am having today signing in to Netflix, I may be spending more time here.

Just like I should have spent more time on Tubi.

Another Old Movie Blog - longish posts but done by someone who loves old movies. If that sounds like you, do check it out.

The same applies to Classic Movie Hub, but it does more posts on types of movies.

Noirsville - the film noir - is a wild site, lurid even, that goes beyond just the movies into other embodiments of noir.

The Film Noir Foundation:

The Film Noir Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation created as an educational resource regarding the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of film noir as an international cinematic movement.

It is our mission to find and preserve films in danger of being lost or irreparably damaged, and to ensure that high quality prints of these classic films remain in circulation for theatrical exhibition to future generations.

Yes, Iam very much a noir fan.

Everyone younger than me teases me about old movies. It seems there is something deviant about being a fan of Turner Classic Movies. What they do not understand is that what is found on TCM was once found generally on TV. How can anyone know what is a good movie, if they have not seen anything in black and white? Quentin Tarantino knows what's up. I cannot help wondering about the people who want to make America great again and who know nothing of America past the previous 25 years? Or why they might not think America is still great, for the same reason.

Netflix has a classic section that includes Jaws and The Great Waldo Pepper. Better that I should have got Criterion, but then I would get nothing written, being glued to some movie I have heard of and never seen before.

I cannot recall why I bookmarked MUBI, even though I do like foreign movies. Again, I probably saved myself a lot more time for work by not doing so. Also, again, I am not so impressed with Netflix's foreign films. I need to come back to this one. Tubi had better foreign films.

I never did check out JustWatch.

ITP Global Film is a film blog that I seem to have bookmarked and forgotten. Looking it over tonight, I realize that was a mistake.

I get a newsletter from Film Comment, which has caused me to neglect its website. It also has a blog.

Another site for which I get a newsletter is RogerEbert.Com. That he is dead makes gives me a strange feeling, but damn the reviews are top-notch. However, the site does retain Ebert's own reviews under Great Movies.

AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE is a deep dive into American film, famous for its lists.

I close out with sites for two of my favorite actors: Deepika Padukone and Tim Curry
